The Gallops Bar & Restaurant

A trip to Kildare Village meant two very hungry girls after a long day of shopping. We explored some restaurants before we set out on our shopping trip. Early Table had a selection of restaurants in county Kildare, with one in particular being within walking distance from the Outlets. With a great selection of late afternoon, early evening time slots, we chose to book The Gallops Bar & Restaurant as it meant we could fuel up for the drive home. The food was excellent quality! Mouthwatering dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, delicious to taste.

Location

Located on Dublin Street in the heart of Kildare Town, this was the perfect location to finish off our trip at Kildare Village. The restaurant had a modern décor with beautiful paintings to reflect the locality of Kildare and the horse racing industry. Upon entering the restaurant, we were met with a warm welcome from the manager who was friendly and happy to assist us to our table. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant with soothing music creating a very relaxed environment. Our table was in the main part of the restaurant, but the décor created a sense of privacy perfect for some girly conversations. The staff were lovely and attentive which added to our overall experience. They had great knowledge on the menu, the various sauces and minor details which is hard to come by. They also suggested some of their personal favorites and popular choices which we really appreciated.

We had a starter and a main course each (shopping sure does make you hungry!). We got a portion of chicken wings and a duck spring roll to start. The wings were drenched in a spicy sauce which wasn’t your typical buffalo hot sauce. As two chicken wing lovers, we would give these an 8/10. The portion size was plentiful, the perfect size for sharing. Served with a blue cheese dip, we would highly recommend them to any chicken wing lovers. The duck spring roll was served on a bed of stir fry vegetables alongside a sweet chili sauce. The duck spring roll was large in size, crisp and flavorsome and perfectly paired with the crunchy vegetables. The presentation was fabulous and far too good to share! For our main courses, we got a roast stuffed turkey and ham dinner and a thai infused stir fry with chicken. Again, the portion sizes were plentiful and certainly did not disappoint. The roast stuffed turkey and ham was served with delicious creamy mash and steamed carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and green beans. The roast potato was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like it. The stuffing was mouth-watering, moist and loaded with flavors. Then poured on top was a gravy, not too much not too little nor was it too thick or too watery. Just the perfect consistency. The thai infused stir fry consisted of a generous portion of oriental rice, crisp chunky chips and mixed vegetables. There was a number of options for added meats including prawns, beef, chicken and tofu but we opted for the chicken. The sauce was a delicious blend of soy and honey with complimented the dish as a whole. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food was delicious, the company was great and the discount was just an extra bonus.

Early Table Savings

We saved a total €16.73 on our food bill by booking with Early Table. We were blown away with the service and food quality despite getting such a great discount. The location was perfect, the staff were friendly and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending to a great day.

Secret Inside Score

Overall, 5 out of 5 for our first (and certainly not the last) Early Table experience.
